Siem Reap City Tour
-Artisans Angkor
Artisans Angkor is a Cambodian social business creating job opportunities for young people in rural areas, while reviving traditional Khmer craftsmanship. The organisation, founded in 1992, is located in Stung Thmey Street, 2 minutes walk from the Old Market in Siem Reap centre, Cambodia.
Address: Chantiers-Ecoles Stung Thmey, Street, Krong Siem Reap
Opening hours: Mon-Sun, 7:30am-6:30pm;
-Old Market (Phsar Chas)
Old Market (Psah Chas, pronounced “psa cha”) is the one most people will get to know though. Right in the heart of the town, it’s got location, posterity and an abundance of offerings on its side. It’s like a Tardis-market; they’ve got clothing, spices, housewares, jewellery, rat-traps, fabrics and detergent for washing them, souvenirs, DVDs and, of course, food, and they cater to absolutely everyone in town.
Psar Krom Market(Cambodia Local Market)
Just a normal local market, but huge. They clothing, meat, fish, vegetables, fruit and household items too.
Price is quite okay compared to any other local market.
Hygiene is not always the case here as some seller are more clean than the other, but you can count as you would wash your groceries later at home anyway.
Expect to buy fresh animal and vegetation product in the morning, as the hours tick by, the quality tends to decline as they are not stored in cooling box.
During the rainy season and fish department, please expect there would be a bit muddy here and there, so where proper clothes and not your new beloved shoes.
Some sellers speak a bit of English, which would be able to tell you how much something would cost. If they don't speak English, no problem, just point and use your natural body language. :)
Phsar Leu Thom Tmey (Cambodia Local Market)
This is a local market so not very touristy and can be crowded and smelly as meat are sold. They also sell vegetables, fruits and fresh produce in general. Shops also sell gold, bags, clothing and clothes, toys, shoes and snacks. There were also shops selling pots and pans, utensils and cosmetics and praying items like joss sticks.
It is acceptable to come here for 1hour to walk around the shops but it can get quite hot outside as there's a lack of shelter. The market is also quite far from the main touristy areas. So I would say this is not a place for tourists. But it's eye opening.
Praying center ( Preah Ang Chek Preah Ang Chorm )
A small Buddhist temple in the middle of Siem Reap, right next to the raffles Grand hotel. Vendors selling lotus, turtles, birds and incense line the back of the temple. A popular place of worship with a big Buddha statue. Shoes need to be removed at the entrance and shoe minders quickly line up to look after them. Payment of a few riel to them is adequate. Incense and flowers can be offered and blessings sort. A nice change from the temples of Angkor.
King Road Angkor

Stallholders set up each night, and it's a great place to sample local Cambodian snacks, fruit, household items,accessories,cloth,... including the full range of deep-fried insects, barbecue dishes such as quail, and plenty of cheap beer.
Angkor night market
The Angkor Night Market, commonly known as the Original Night Market, established in 2007, was the first night market to open in Siem Reap and even the whole of Cambodia. With around 240 shops, it is the biggest and most interesting night market to see. As the biggest night market in Siem Reap, it naturally has a wide variety of things to see, do, eat and enjoy. A modest food court offers Cambodian, Western and Asian specialties. Excellent English is spoken here.
