Full day bike tour in Siem Reap, Cambodia
Cycle quiet back trails, explore breathtaking temples in the stunning and friendly Cambodian countryside. This bike tour runs in Siem Reap.
Escape the crowds, the busy roads and the well-worn tourist trail at Angkor. Cycle the small tracks and minor roads to see a different side of the Angkor Temples. This is a guided bike tour of the most intriguing of the major temples. We visit Tha Prom, The Elephant Terrace and the Bayon as well as a couple of less visited ones along the way. We finish with a ride on small trails through the villages and back to town. This is a truly enjoyable ride on a good bike with a friendly Cambodian cycling guide.
If you can ride a bike, then you will love this bike tour. The distance is approximately 30 km on mainly flat tracks and small roads. We will stop often for photos, temple exploration on foot and refreshments.
Please note: Cambodian day tours will not operate April 14th, 15th & 16th due to Khmer New Year celebrations. We apologize for any inconvenience.
Gather at the Grasshopper Shop
Meet at The Grasshopper Shop at 7:30 am, just over the river from the old market. Bring camera, sunglasses, sunscreen and comfortable cycling clothes. You will start with a ride out towards the main temple area on a small road following the river.
Cycle the Angkor Temples
The first temple we visit is the amazing Angkor Wat. We then cycle the main circuit road and just as we enter Angkor Thom, we leave the road and spend the rest of the day on charming, quiet trails through these majestic structures. We visit The Bayon, famous for its serene faces and The Elephant Terrace while our lunch is prepared. After lunch we visit Tha Prom, known commonly as the jungle temple, with tree roots attempting to reclaim the ruins. From here we ride a red dirt road and then some great small tracks back to town. You can expect to return to town around 4:30 pm.
Please note: Appropriate dress (knees and shoulders fully covered) is compulsory for entry into certain sections of Angkor Wat, and should also be observed throughout all temple areas for reasons of cultural sensitivity.

Day 2: Kompung Pluk Tour & Cooking Clsss( Please note: This is the Join-in tour, Group size 2 to 17 pax)
We leave Siem Reap at 8:30 am and travel south/east through small beautiful rural villages and rice fields towards the great lake. Depending on the time of year and the current water levels we go as far as we can by road where our boats will be waiting for you. We travel the rest of the way by boat down the Kompong Phluk river and into the main village.
The village is home to approx 3000 predominately Khmer fishing people, where, depending on the time of year, we will either sail on through the main street of the village (when the water is high the roads become a river) or walk along it in the low water level season. Whichever way it's a great opportunity to see how the rural fishing villages work/live and go about their daily tasks. There are a few schools, large Buddha pagoda and many stilted homes towering some 9 meters high to adapt to the changing water levels. It is a lovely peaceful place to visit anytime of the year, as well as seeing how a vast majority of Cambodians live as fishermen or farmers and get an insight into their way of life.
From there we transfer into our small boats and row you through the flooded forest of Kompong Phluk (or if the water levels are low we walk through the treetop canopy walkway). The name of Kompong Phluk means “Harbor of the tusks”. We then proceed onto the great lake itself and see the small floating village which moves in and out depending on the water levels, as the community works around the seasonal variance of the great lake as the actual level of the lake can vary by up to 10 meters.
All our boats are licensed and captained by experienced drivers and all include life jackets. We also have back up boats as with all our tours the Kompong Phluk special half day includes everything with no more to pay. We only have limited numbers and specialize in taking smaller groups so booking is recommended at least the day before. Booking can be done via the travel agents in Siem Reap.
Noted: For Kompong Pluk tour we'll pick you up between 7:40am to 8:30am and tour will be finish around 1pm. Then that is your relax time. But we will pick you up again for cooking class at 3:00pm.
